Aquatalia are great shoes. They are made in Italy and are weatherproofed which is great for wearing in snow knowing they wont fall apart after one season.

$400 for aquatalia boots is almost worth it because of the quality. Thye'd survive your winters up there.

as an aside I have to admit I've been loving that website (whatkatewore). And I really love that green sweater wrap she is wearing with ballet flats. But they don't mention where she got that or what she paid.

Uh, no. The only thing that survives our winters are Wellies. We don't get snow, we get rain. LOL. Anything leather or suede is ruined with the first real rain.

Back to square one....I don't see the point of ordering any of the boots in my original post. After a day of shopping and trying on many shoes, and a few pairs of boots, I decided that I must go to B&M store to try on. While the Clarks outlet didn't have the boots I linked in OP I tried on enough to know my feet didn't like any of them. I think I may need wides...running has taken it's toll on my feet. If not wides, I need the leather to be super soft. (The Clarks are not.)

Anyone have a recommendation for a brand that is super soft leather and would "give" a bit?
