From what I've hear top of the ears is the place where you are most likely to get skin cancer precisely because most people forget to put sunscreen there, it's at the top of the head so exposed and is inconvenient to check.

i had a suzuki samurai - remember those? and i was driving with the top off, ball cap and sunscreen on...
...and a week later, went to put my hair behind my ears and the whole tops of my ears came off! freaky!
