Okay, I have sent an email to this Etsy seller to see if she can do this bag in black with a longer handle drop for me.

I like the idea of something kind of unique and she has a lot of positive feedback.

If she can do it (and assuming she charges me about the same for a custom bag), that would leave me with $50 or so. I wonder if I could find a comfortable, decent quality pair of shoes for that? Or maybe a fun cardigan?

If it were me I would go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls and get several of the things on your list....probably a purse and boots would be at the top of mine.

I am the same exact way! I don't think I would enjoy it remotely and I like tangible things I can keep such as BOOTS!

And I thought I was the only one!

I tried Marshalls and NR this morning for a handbag. No luck. I can be, ummm, picky would be a polite way to say it. I think I might have a hard time finding a bag there. I do things like find a great bag, but there's a logo on the front that I don't like, or the hardware is too shiny, or. . . . Well, you get the idea.

I'm hoping for a yes from the Etsy seller and still pondering something for the remaining $50.

I just got one in the floral pattern:

It's a nice size...I just brought it to work today. It's big enough to hold a laptop, wallet, phone, keys, a few papers & a bag of jellybeans , but not too big (slightly smaller than my old Fossil Executive tote. Also, wasn't there a grey Fossil satchel that you were wanting before?

I agree, a fabulous handbag or pair of shoes will be the biggest bang for your buck because you can wear them every day.

Good memory! I really like the Fossil bags. After thinking about it some more, I think I should get plain black. It's kind of pathetic that I am over 40 and don't own a decent plain black handbag. I was thinking about the Fossil Modern Satchel, but the drop on the handles isn't as long as I would like. . . .
