Default Did you get vaxed for smallpox?

Not your kids; you, yourself. I'm not sure when smallpox vaccinations stopped, there are various dates I've found, including 1973, 1979, and May 8, 1980 when the WHO certified smallpox eradicated. I'm interested to know how many of us are vaxxed for it, and I'd imagine that those that are are mainly the older moms on the board.

Yes, and I was shocked to find this out only recently -- I found *my* vax record from when I liked in MA. DH (older than me, but born in Canada) never received it.

You don't have a scar on your upper arm? I thought everyone ended up with the scar. Then again, the scar might no seem intuitively like the vax.

Nope, no scar -- which is why I've always assumed I did NOT get it. But, there it is on my vax record.

Yes, I did. And I have a scar on my arm to prove it! I got it overseas, not in the US.

I want to say yes, because I have the tell tale scar on my arm....but I was born in 83. Hmm I should dig up my records. Maybe the scar is from chicken pox!

ETA Ok obviously based on the dates of these things, I was not. Its just a nasty pox scar, I have loads of them.

I don't think I did. No scar anyway. DH has the scar though. He was born in '68 in the U.K. and I was born in '75 here.

Yes and I have the scar to prove it (but no written records). I got it when we lived in France with my grandparents back in the late 70's.
