Talking Official Christmas Stocking thread! 2011

    Update:
Finished my shopping! Just need to get some consumables but I'll get those closer to Christmas. I usually do things like an M&M candy cane and pocky. I also need to pick up socks but may skip them this year because I am having trouble finding anything I like and I'm tired of shopping. Socks and underwear are a tradition in the stocking for us. I've also always do books and a stuffed animal.

i need to post so i don't go "overboard"---

last night i was at wegs and they had these for 3.99:
    http://briarpatch.com/I-Spy-Wonder-Tubes.aspx

i bought 4-- 3 for nieces/nephew and one for my own kiddo. they fulfill the sparkly/fun rule of stockings and come in all the different rainbow colors (except i couldn't find yellow)

so far for lucy's stocking i have:
    i spy wonder tube
ikea crank flashlight (it's RED...so that's perfect stocking fodder around here!: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30190857/ )

i always do a toothbrush and some type of chocolate santa....i'll probably put a clementine or orange in the toe and have some plushy thing peeking out (maybe a puppet (she's been pretty into the idea of handpuppets lately)

oh-- and i also saw these straws that flavor milk when you suck through them. i'll probably get lu one of those too...for the novelty

Ohh the spy tubes look cute. No wegs here though I will need to keep an eye out. They are $6.99 on amazon.
Like the crank flashlight idea as well.

But when I do, I will look around with a wistfullness in my heart and miss the days where vibrant imaginations ran wild and there was evidence of life happening around me all the time!"

DD (will be 5 just before Christmas) will get a few charms for her gap kids charm bracelet. She'll probably get some accessories for her 18 inch doll. I don't have anything else planned yet. Some things we do every year, like a piece of fruit in their stocking, some good chocolate, a few fun art supplies (wikki stix, play doh, etc.), hair accessories for DD, balsa wood airplanes as that's a family tradition from my own childhood).

DS1 (will be 7.5 at Christmas, almost 8) may get a book on CD (Jim Weiss stuff) and DD may get that as well. He'll probably get a small denomination B&N GC to use for his Nook or a real book. I need some ideas for him.

The spy tubes look fun! They look similar to what my sister gave to DS and it's been a big hit so far. She is a librarian and said the kids at her library love them.

I've been picking up small goodies throughout the trip for our upcoming WDW trip. However, I will probably use several of those items as stocking stuffers too, since I probably got too many, lol.

-I've got xmas themed lego kits I got on clearance last yr at TRU that will be perfect for stocking stuffers, esp since we're doing legoland too.

    -Star war pens.

    -Books

-DS1 has been begging for another hex bug (they broke theirs), so I will probably get them each one as stocking stuffers.

I'm wondering if there will be a Christmas themed hex bug at Radio Shack.

I didn't even think about that. He wanted the one that looked like a spider (or crab) the last time we were at radio shack. I'm just reluctant, b/c they broke the ones DH got for them yrs ago in within a few days. They really suck at taking care of their toys.
