WOW. What an a$$hat. I am so sorry. As one of three girls, and a mom to 2 girls, I happen to think they're awesome.
When I was pregnant with DS people used to say things like, "Oh, your DH wants a boy?" or "Hope it's not another girl!" all. the. freakin. time. I'd look them right in the eye and say, "Really? What makes you say/think that?" Then they'd fumble for an answer. I'd follow up with, "We think our girls are amazing and would be lucky to have one more!"
As I know you are well aware, sisters are the bomb
