Now that DS is a walker, we really need to put a hardware-mounted gate at the top of the stairs. The problem is our stairs curve leading to the top, leaving a small width of wall that is parallel to each other for gate installation. We also have small, uneven base board ("bb") pieces at the bottom of the area, and a banister on the top left. This leaves us with the dimensions of 44" wide, 29" tall (excluding the bb), and on the wall itself 2" wide to install the gate.

Any ideas on what we can use to gate off the area? DH suggested that we mount a 3"+ piece of wood on one side of the wall, then install a Supergate that is 23" tall, but extendable to 41" wide, or a similarly short gate. Not the most attractive, but it's the only thing we can come up with so far.

Thanks for your help.
