Hands down her $10 make-up kit from Wal-Mart. LOL.It was the only thing she asked for. I tried to find kids make-up that was not so cheap (didn't want her to get a rash) but no luck. So far her skin has been ok with this.
Casio Keyboard with microphone. Has lots of features and is fun to play.

And this toy has been a surprise hit. She loves this thing!

I so want her to like playing with dolls, doll houses, Barbie etc. I remember spending hours in pretend play with my dolls. But it just isn't going to happen.

I purchased an 18" Madame Alexander doll. (American Girl was just too much.) I got her a doll trunk, chair and a few accessories. I thought if she had a larger, older-looking doll it might spark an interest. We played together with this set, and she had fun, but she probably won't touch it again. Sigh...

Sorry for posting so haphazardly, but DD also loved the Lego Harry Potter game that I also found on the Amazon deals thread. She read the books this summer and the game is great. Took some time to build it and then we all played last night.

I've been reading this thread looking for birthday ideas and realized that I haven't posted any hits and misses for DD!

    Hits for 7 3/4yo DD:
    Pogo Stick
    Doll from Little MissMatched
    Arm Warmers
    Gymnastics Mat
My Keepon - it's a "dancing robot." Very cute. It also reacts to touch. DD likes to listen to music in her room so I thought this would go over well
    Spooner Board

No real misses yet. Some things have definitely not seen as much play time, but I'm not willing to label them as misses yet.

    Update - Miss:
Beware of Dog Game - it's a miss b/c the thing just won't work correctly. Santa gave DD one that didn't work correctly. We told our elf about it and a mysterious box (we can only assume from Santa) came a few days later with a new Beware of Dog game. That one worked for one round. That's it. It was fun when it worked, but now that it doesn't, it's a big dud.

Update - we have played multiple rounds of Spot It and it has been a huge hit! (6 yo dds).

The break your own geodes have also been great.

And mil found some solar powered butterfly lights for the garden - the girls love looking out the window at them at night. No clue where she got them, but they are cute and great for our fairy garden!
