I went with the one inch version. My girls have been taping everything in sight. I'm not going to lie, the price hurts... but they love it.

I am also convinced that there has to be an easy diy version, but I didn't have time to figure it out.

    9 year old DS:

    Hits
Nintendo DS games: Moshi Monsters, Lego Star Wars III,
    Spy Net watch, and glasses
Lego Star Wars set, and Lego Ninjago set
    Lego Ideas book
    Lego watch

...and his toddler brother's Rody Horse (LOL!) I should have gotten him and his 5 yr. old sister the Rody Max, as they keep jumping on Rody, and my 2 year old is having a fit!

Hasn't tried yet, but was excited to receive:
Redakai Championship Tin set (his other friends have it)
    Mama to "The Fantastic Four":
    DS 02
    DD 06
    DS 09
    DD 12

Someone posted a link to one in early December (probably a different brand...? can't remember). I had looked around for a cheaper version, even found a couple online, I think. I had decided against it until the last minute panic and Lakeshore learning b&m was the only place I could get one at that late date. My girls are obsessed with tape and always steal mine, so this is perfect for them. Just expensive!
wow, cool! never seen/heard of it. nothing like that sold at michaels or ac moore? where can you buy these

DS received these Christmas Eve from my sister and couldn't wait to play with them. I don't know much more as I've been in bed with horrible dental pain for the past 2 days, but I know that he and DH have been playing with them. The mountain has spots for water and I know they used ice cubes, so it must change colors.

DS1 is 6. He's my SN kiddo, is probably a little less mature than your average 6 yr old.

    Hits:
    Power Wheels Gator
    Bomb Blastin Mater
Really- anything Cars related- Mater's Tall Tales DVD, diecast cars, RC cars
    Nerf gun
    Sandbox digger
    All f DS's toys

It takes him a while to get to everything, so I'm not go to list many misses, but I will say that he was NOT impressed at all with Christmas PJs or books, both of which were hits last year. Guess those days are over! lol

My older two are 6 and 7 yrs old.

    Hits:

-Wii Skylanders set & pirate set (thanks to BBB, I read about it here)
-Build-your-own light sabers from our WDW trip last wk
    -Lego
-Hex bugs nanos and tracks (but, UGH on the damn batteries, my DH bought 50 on ebay and we are going through those things like no tomorrow!)
    -Angry bird plushes
-Angry bird game (they build up a set up according to card and then sling shot using tiny angry birds)
-Connect 4 lauchers, this is actually a pretty fun variation of the original. Who doesn't like to sling shot pieces?
-Toy story operation, better yet, this game was only a buck AND it doesn't have the annoying buzz that the original has if you hit the edge!
-Beyblade key chains (that work), got these at the japanese pavillion at epcot. We like how they stay all together (rip cord, launder and blade) when you aren't using them and how compact they are.
-Playmobil figures that were stuffing stockers. DS1 got an old fashioned scuba diver, DS2 got a cowboy (he loves the guns of course), DS3 got a pirate (he loves the sword and pistol of course).
-Switching snap circuit rover to a hit! DS1 was complaining that he was bored today and I reminded him that he had not opened his rover yet. He loves it!

    Miss:

Ant farm kit for DS2, I didn't realize that it's too cold right now for us to mail order ants. He's really excited about the set, but I told him we will have to wait until spring to order ants. It would have been a good bday gift since he has a summer bday.
