Reccomend a Magic Set

I need to buy a magic kit, set for an 8 year old boy. Does anyone have one they like?

My 8.5 year old DD likes her Melissa and Doug sets as does her 7 year old male friend (who put on a New Years Eve Magic show for us last night). A big independent toy store had suggested a different brand to my mom pre- christmas but sorry, I do not know the name as I said she still had a lot of the tricks to master in the current sets she has. She has the rope set and few individual tricks. The best tricks are ones we got at actual magic stores but those are very pricey - like $30plus per trick and similar ones are found in the Melissa and Doug sets and only slightly less quality IMO.

My DDs friend had the deluxe magic set which had a big variety of trick some basic - lots he could do by himself - a bunch you could assume the object (box) was a trick box or whatever because it looked like a kids wooden magic box. This includes the magic bag which is a great trick.

This is the one we have - tricks are harder - but if done well, look great, only one uses a little gadget thing to cut a rope in half - although that is the easiest trick and my DDs favorite trick
