I am doing something similar to this. I am doing One Thing A Day like they do over at unclutterer.com forums. It really helps me to just have that simple goal of getting one thing out of the house every day so that I can't put it off to some magical future where I'll have lots of time to do it all at once.

I am trying to keep track of what goes out and what comes in, which also really helps as it makes me limit what I *buy* to only what I *need*, which is really, really, really hard when you are expecting a new baby.

I kept track of everything that came in during the holidays (starting on Thanksgiving and going to January 1st) so my first goal is to get as many things out as came in during that time.

I made it to the mall today and returned stuff that had been sitting around the house so I have a few more to add:

4 shirts for DC that were never worn
    2 comforters
    3 shirts for me
    1 poncho
1 Xmas gift that didn't work

    11 items
    90 OLD TOTAL
    101 NEW TOTAL

And I was able to resist the temptation to buy anything so I returned home empty handed.

I just saw this thread for the first time today, but I'm in!

I just re-started my decluttering this weekend, and I'm NOT going to see what's sitting at the curb.

    But, I remember:
    5 boxes
    4 books
    4 broken toys
    3 preschool art projects
    1 pitcher

That's 17. But you all make 2012 seem do-able, so I'm going to do it!

Yay everyone! DH and I each went through our dressers and got rid of two huge garbage bags of clothes. Even better, DH found two old pairs of flannel pants that were way too small for him and fit my pregnant self perfectly and are way comfy! So at least I won't have to buy any bigger PJs!

I'm desperately trying to sell our pottery barn bedding set and a big pile of girls' bedding stuff and having no luck. I am practically willing to give it away at this point, but not getting much response from my CL ad. I would be thrilled if I could get that stuff out this week!
