I actually had my trip report up for a week on here but decided that it was more than I needed to share.
I'll put it up for a bit more:
Arrived in Vegas at 10am and cabbed it to Vdara to stow our luggage. Vdara is in the City Center complex and I really liked the hotel. It was nice that it was non smoking and no casino. It was just an easy place to deal with. We had a lake view (Bellagio fountains) so that was very nice. We got a snack at Jean Phillipe in Aria and were wowwed by the yummy goodies! Then we just walked through various hotels and casinos (Aria, Paris, Caesars, Bellagio, maybe some more). Pretty much walked all day then got ready for dinner and La Reve at the Wynn. *Loved* the Wynn! So pretty, airy and just nice. Dinner was tasty at La Cave (tapas so lots of just tasty treats). La Reve was so, so cool! Thanks, artvandalay! Depressingly, we were so sleepy from our early, early flight that we went to bed by 10pm. (that's ok, we made up for it the next night ).
Up bright and early. With the old people. On the bright side, we easily walked into brunch at Bouchon. Delicious! I didn't love what I ordered (french toast) but it was still a great meal. Vegas was so fun that early in the day...we played, "starting the day or walk of shame?" with the people we passed. High fived some still drunk guy. It was St. Patrick's Day so people were starting to get ready for an extra special day (or getting an early start). Bouchon is in the Venetian so we wandered around there. So gaudy but I thought that stuff was awesome; it was like Disney World!
Lots more casino wandering. We also looked at the fine art gallery at the Bellagio. We eventually wound up at Todd English PUB and bought some really over priced Guinness. Still, good people watching and fun. Tried to nap after that because we booked 11pm Thunder from Down Under tickets and we didn't want to wuss out! No go on the nap but we perked up and had lots of fun getting ready to go out (I missed that from college days).
The night got off to a great start at Mandalay Bay because they had live Irish bands in every bar we walked past. We walked in, got some Irish whiskey, listened to some great music and really got in the spirit of the day. After dinner and more casino wandering, we found ourselves at Thunder from Down Under. Had to be the most fun show I have ever been to! Rowdy ladies, silly guys...a must see, imo! After it was over, we made the decision to stay out all night. And so we did. We thus got to see Vegas over 24 consecutive hours. We started off with the old folks Saturday morning and ended with the stumbling in folks on Sunday morning.
On Sunday, we got out of the hotel at 12 and got some breakfast then I decided to seek out the secret pizza place in the Cosmopolitan. Took a few minutes but it was a happy discovery (nice and cheap!).
I can't wait to go back. More shows to see, more places to eat, more casinos to visit. I think we did pretty well for the short time we were there. I don't know if I have it in me for 2 all nighters so this worked out well. I am trying to convince dh and another couple to go sometime soon.
Oh,and I won a whopping $17.
