Several years ago, they used to sell out within a couple of weeks; well before xmas. Lately, our store has been better supplied and they still had a good amount last week.

I still have 13 tins in my stash, so I'm good for a while.

I always make mine with milk.
I'm going to look for this the next time I go to the grocery store. According to the website, my local grocery carries it. As far as I can tell, it's a packet of ground chocolate, right?

I make mine by combining 2.5 tbls of the Whole Foods 365 Organic cocoa
with .5 tbls of the Trader Joe's Sipping Chocolate. I use hot water because I can never heat milk just right. I do leave a little room in the cup to add some cold milk or cream. That way the cocoa is at just the right temp to drink right away. Then I put whipped cream on top and sprinkle with cocoa powder from Penzey's.

I make a 'by-the-mug' version of this, which is just a variation of a recipe from the side of a Fry's cocoa can. It is GREAT:

    1 Tbsp cocoa
2 Tbsp sugar (or less - to taste)
    pinch of chili powder
    1 Tbsp cold milk

Combine dry ingredients in a mug and then add the Tbsp cold milk - mix, to a smooth consistency. I usually heat the milk in a separate mug and then pour it in, and mix. It is WONDERFUL. In the winter, I make this for DD probably 4 days a week.

I don't care for Alton's recipe. I LOVE the super-secret recipe someone posted here recently -- let me see if I can find it! I just make it on the stove and whisk a little bit, heat until warm.

    ETA: Here it is! http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/sho...8&postcount=11

I just started using almond milk instead of milk/cream in my coffee, and one of these days I want to use it for this hot chocolate.
