Anyone have a Bamix?
So DH has started making DS's baby food in the last two weeks. It already has become apparent that this will be hard on our existing immersion blender (a Rival that DH's mother gave us when our old first-generation Cuisnart gave up the ghost) in terms of staining and strain on the motor (last night DH was pureeing parsnips with it). Not to mention potential melting when it gets used in a soup pot that is over the heat!
We have been reading up on the Bamix, which appears to be the Cadillac of immersion blenders. (Why yes, that WAS a "Get Shorty" reference, from back when I had time to read!). However, it is pretty pricey by any stretch of the imagination.
Does anyone have one of these? Views and reviews? Pros and cons? Any brand/s that you think are comparable or better? FWIW, we will be using it for baby food for the next four to six months or so (DS is five months this week) and then it primarily will be used for making soups, sauces, chutneys, etc.
Thanks in advance!
