Haven't read the other responses,but can you put some hooks and shelves in the garage? We have hooks in our garage and I hang everything from coats, bags, swimming stuff, etc. on there.

DH knows not to mess with my organizing projects but once in a while he does some crazy stuff like this. I would at least move the coats. What was he thinking?
