    Question Convertible or Booster?

Someone's reply to my other thread got me thinking. My ODD will be 3 next month. She is 85th percentile for height and weight and she has a long torso. She currently FF's in our car. I'm looking at getting a second seat for her and I'm wondering if I should be looking at convertibles or should I be considering something like a Frontier for her? It never even occurred to me that I might consider a seat like that for her now. Safety followed by comfort are my top priorities. What would you do? I would like to stop having to buy seats for her. We had a diplomat, recaro signo, and a true fit currently in my car. What do you think?

I would get a Fronteir. It is a nice big seat and you can use it harnessed for probably several more years. Then you can transition it to a Booster when your DD is ready.

We LOVE our Frontiers. DS1 has had a FR85 since they first came out. DS2 (age 3) just got his last month. Great comfortable seats.

I would personally make the True Fit her second seat. She probably has quite a bit of growing room in that still. I'd get her a Frontier for her main ride.

I think you will be fine with the Frontier. I loved the seat as a harnessed seat. We have the Frontier 80 and DD1 really enjoyed the seat until we tried it as a belted booster; it was just too hard for her to use properly (she was ready to graduate from the harness and I didn't see the point of extended harness use past 5/1/2). Now it is unfortunately her spare seat until she is big enough to buckle herself in.
