April is Autism Awareness month, but this "awareness" too often takes the form of fear-mongering or vague feel-good campaigns that don't really do anything to improve the lives of autistic individuals and their families.
There is a growing movement to make April "Autism Acceptance Month" and to make real changes in how people with autism are treated in our society.
