I just bought both kids the smaller sized Contigo cups. So far (after heavy use from a 7.5 year old and just about 3 year old) they have not leaked AT ALL.
My only wish was that they were insulated, but they'll work for now.

DS1 has been using Contigo cups since he was 3. They're great since they don't leak and he feels like it's a 'big boy' cup because it's spoutless.

DS2 uses any type of "straw" cup.

We use Klean Kanteen water bottles.
