Default s/o what is the most you've spent on a purse??

Just wondering. Most of the moms I know IRL seem to think it's downright sinful to spend more than $100 on a purse. I have definitely spent far beyond that (i LOVE bags). I sometimes feel bad, though unlike most moms, I don't have ANY expensive jewelry (other than my wedding rings, which were not expensive either), and DH & I have never gone on a "real" vacation in the past 4 years..so I don't think I'm THAT indulgent just wondering if there is anyone else out there that loves bags as much as me

    poll coming.

Well, DH bought me a pretty Coach bag when I got pregnant with DD... that was probably around $300 or so, I think? But I would probably spend $200 on myself (with a sale )... totally not practical for me, as I'm a SAHM, and even if I were to go back to work, it would be in teaching, so it's not like I would get good use out of a high status bag!

I really like LV (simple, original dark with tan colored LV & straps), but not for that much money, unless I could be guaranteed to love it & carry it for the rest of my life!

$100ish. I'm just not a status symbol person. Not being judgy. I have my own silly indulgences. ipad and iphone and xbox.....
I think it was a large leather Fossil, on clearance. Not fancy but definitely nice enough for business casual.

I think not more than $300-350 for a giant all-leather Coach Hamptons tote bag (used as a diaper bag with Henry). This was 10-12 years ago, I probably wouldn't spend much more than $200 now.

I think the most expensive were my Balenciaga city bags. I have one LV and the then the rest of my nice bags were all bought on sale: a few marc jacobs, a Gucci, a Chloe etc. More recently I really like Clare Vivier bags. Not quite as expensive and a little more obscure. Most of my $$ bags were pre-kids. I can't bring myself to spend that much money anymore.

My last purse cost $125. I'd be willing to spend up to $200, but that's just me cuz I'm not a purse person...though if something came along that I really wanted I might bend the rules...like one of those tumi handbags that holds a laptop and loosk really nice and also loops onto luggage handles, for work... Everyone has their indulgences - I don't see anything wrong with it if you can afford it! If it makes you smile, it's worth it

eta: and I say who cares if someone else thinks it's sinful!

If I like something enough, I will buy it, but I have never been a bag person. I get too distracted by all the pretty clothes and shoes I would rather have to care about the purse.

I have 2 bags that each cost $100. Everything else was less. They are good bags and I have a hard time imagining what, beside brand name cache, that I'd really, truly get if I spend a lot more. (era- I know that thery are likely very good; jmo and not a judgement.) I could see spending up to $300 but not till I get a job. I was never a single career gal so no time to indulge on 1 income and no family...that shopping could have been fun.

$235 for my Dooney & Bourke backpack in 2002, when the all weather collection was being discontinued. In general when I want a new purse I spend between $100-$150. I haven't bought a new purse since 2009 (Coach leather hobo from outlet, it was $160), and I could easily go another 3-5 yrs. with my current collection (Kate Spade Claire, med. Seat Belt bag, large Seat Belt bag, and Dooney back pack). I would like an open top LV dark Damier canvas bag or 25 Speedy, but those I am willing to splurge on once I no longer have DD2 in full time day care, which is $900 a month.

I had NEVER spent more than $50 or so on a purse, but last fall I fell in love with a Marc Jacobs bag at Nordstrom. It was $300 on sale, marked down from $500. I almost didn't get it, but was talked into it by a friend.

I have to say it was so worth it. I it. I use it every single day for work and I get compliments on it by random people practically daily.
