"Someday, I am going to go to bed without toys on the floor and sippys in my sink. Things will stay where I put them and I can have nice, fragile items on display. But when I do, I will look around with a wistfullness in my heart and miss the days where vibrant imaginations ran wild and there was evidence of life happening around me all the time!"

There is a Spy Gear door alarm that is a lot of fun. DS1 got one for Christmas last year and still uses it. It's on with 3m command strips now and it works well.

DD will be 9 a few weeks after Christmas.

Guitar - her first, she has asked for a couple years, I think she's finally old enough to really learn.

Maxi Kick scooter - She's gone thru several razors over the years and we are getting DS a Mini so we decided to get her to same thing.

Monster High dolls - doubt these will get play but she hasn't ask for much else, very popular among the neighborhood girls

Wii games - Just Dance 4, Just Dance Disney, Big Time Rush

    Twister Dance

Basketball goal - for her birthday right after Christmas.

Our nephew (age 6) asked for new footies, so I bought him a blue blanket sleeper at Target. It has a space shuttle design on it.

He's also really into Lego Ninjago, but I'm not sure what figures will be recommended to us. Honestly, I have a few more things in mind as well, but really wish DH's SIL would get suggestions to us early enough that I don't have to spend half of my vacation days next month freaking out about gift delivery.

Our niece (age 8) is a bit tougher to shop for, but I have some suggestions left from her birthday last weekend. I just have no ideas, though, because I'm really bad at shopping for girls.

We have birthdays and holidays this time of year, so the lists get long (they also include what we suggest for all the grandparents and aunts and uncles):

    DS
    soccer ball
    football
arrows and a target for his ever-loved bow
a high quality behind the door basketball hoop
    perplexus
    bike with gears
    cd player/radio
    golden compass books
    camelback for hiking
    tennis racket

    DD
    rock tumbler
    style-me-up jewelry maker
    camelback for hiking
    clip-on earrings
    barbies and clothes
harmonica and book on how to learn to play
    taylor swift cd
    spirograph
    bike
    hair wraps
    perplexus
    sound machine for sleeping
magnatiles (though I worry she is too old for them and I should resell them on craigslist!)

Santa will bring a Wii U for both of them.

And both got a chromebook for their birthdays from my parents... (they don't have any other electronic devices).

Where did you get the clip on earrings, did you find any particularly good for kids?
