I like to use the small toys that come along with Target gift cards every now and then. I buy the gift card and just use it myself, and then put the toys in their stockings. So far this year I have a caterpillar hexbug, 3D house puzzle, and today I found a car that follows a line drawn with a marker, and a magnetic maze.

    Love those poppydrop earrings too!

Santa (who shops at Target) almost always brings socks - not sure why, but both kids get excited about this! DD gets hair accessories, lip gloss, etc. Last year, both kids got flashlights which were a huge hit.

A friend of mine just tipped me off to the Hello Kitty bath and body set in stock now at our local Costco. She's taking everything out of the package and putting everything in her DD's stocking. Instant stocking! Think it's around $20 and comes with a lot of stuff, all usable.

DD & DS will both be getting:
    • piggy paints
    • baby legs (DS likes to wear them on his arms during winter time)
    • glow sticks
    • aquasphere goggles
    • magformers (we already have 2 sets but I found a site that sells them individually by shape and DS really wants some pentagons like he has at school, I got DD some trapezoids).
    • Sweets

    DH
His stocking is going to be wine themed.
    • More vacu vin wine stoppers both in boring gray and a pack of colors.
    • A vacu vin wine pourer
    • probably a bottle of wine as well.
    • Sweets (Germany has a candy called wine gummies, those would fit in nicely)

    Every year, stockings have
    -underwear
    -socks
    -personalized ornament

They will both also get a Nintendo DS game, a gummy bear on a stick, and Swish for DD1, Slamwich for DD2.

Hmmm, sort of feels like that's not enough, but I'm trying to stay away from stuff that will just be thrown out in a week or two. Maybe I'll add some band-aids, Chapstick etc.

so far the only thing I have for the boys are big bouncy balls from the .25 machine at old navy and a big horseshoe magnet from the dollar tree.
eta- purchased a beanie baby for each, pipsqueek markers, mini oil pastel kit (ac moore) and a mini notebook I am going to put TOP SECRET on for their spy kit.
eta2- added some beyblades, a kitchen timer, a puzzle and an ikea owl puppet for my 5 year old, spy gear from target

and for DH I picked up a earbud cord wrapper from the dollar spot at target (looks like a little hamburger)
cell phone charger holders (similar to this) http://www.amazon.com/Driinn-Mobile-...charger+holder (2 in a pack for $3 at target as well)

    Thinking-
Contigo Cups for their beds (they have bunk beds so no night stand) http://www.amazon.com/Contigo-Autose...ref=pd_sim_k_3
    solar car http://www.amazon.com/Solar-Car-Smal...=Solar+Car+owi
    spy glasses http://www.amazon.com/Alex-Toys-Rear...ds=spy+glasses
    watch
    fyrflyz http://www.amazon.com/FyrFlyz-Light-...2752744&sr=1-2
    glow sticks
some more of these http://www.amazon.com/Laser-Finger-B...=finger+lasers. We bought some over the summer and the boys have a blast with them with their magnatiles and other toys. Sadly they are a bit junky so many of them have died and been lost now but they have great play value so I will probably replace them.
    LED shoelaces http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-multi-...glow+shoelaces
    hexbugs
    stapleless stapler http://www.amazon.com/Pencil-Grip-Cl...e+free+stapler
    GloBrushes http://www.amazon.com/Arm-Hammer-Spi...brush+globrush

    For DH
    earbud holder

"Someday, I am going to go to bed without toys on the floor and sippys in my sink. Things will stay where I put them and I can have nice, fragile items on display. But when I do, I will look around with a wistfullness in my heart and miss the days where vibrant imaginations ran wild and there was evidence of life happening around me all the time!"
