Help me find a substitute for this Coach bag

My mom, who NEVER buys anything with a designer label, saw a friend's Coach bag and decided she really likes it. She's willing to pay the $250 for it, but it just seems like such a waste since it's a fairly common design and she likes the functionality rather than the brand (I don't think she's ever paid more than $40 for a bag before!)

I've seen that style at the Coach outlet for 50% off. This weekend the outlets are having an additional 30% on top of that.

I second that. I've been very impressed by Coach quality. My Coach purse has been used daily for 2.5 years, and other than looking a little dingy in some parts (it's a light color), it looks like new. I've never had another purse stand up so well to regular use. I love it so much I rarely use my other purses now, LOL. (Well I'm using the diaper bag as my purse lately just to avoid carrying 2 things... but I miss using my Coach purse)
