can anyone tell me the difference between these two brands? besides oshkosh is a subsidiary of carter, and carter seems to sell toddler and younger clothes (but does go up to 5T), what is their difference in terms of price, quality, and style?

quality is about the same. Same company. Carters is for babies, toddlers and up to young kids. Osh Kosh is for kids on up. I think Carters is a bit more "fun" and colorful but that is also because it's geared to a younger age.

IMO, Oshkosh runs large for size compared to Carters and other brands. The Target version may be different. Ex. my 6 yo can wear an Oshkosh 4T sslv t-shirt while he wears a size 6 in most other brands. My kids wear their Oshkosh pants last before moving up a size.

I agree that osh kosh runs larger. I think that Carter's baby and toddler stuff is cuter than osh kosh too.

I think Osh Kosh is a little pricier than Carters, given that Costco and Marshalls sell the Carters line at low prices. I agree with everyone else that Carters skews younger, as it usually features cute animal graphics on its T-shirts.
I think quality is slightly higher with osh kosh in our experience
