    Default TMI baby poop question

DS7 months is constipated I guess. The last 3 days he cries while pooping. today he went a tiny bit crying the whole time and his anus is red and you can see that he needs to go more. tips? bananas are new...could that be causing the problem?

Bananas, yes! Even my 12yo gets constipated if he eats too many. Quit feeding them for a day or two just to be sure.

Does he eat fruit? Blueberries, Blackberries, etc. Berries help DD stay "regular". Also melon.

Dilute "homestyle" orange juice works, too.

It's a tough age since they can't actually eat/chew much! The juice is a great idea!

Prunes or pears are good. We used diluted prune juice also.

We followed BLW weaning for the most part, but when my son was constipated we did pull out some pureed prunes and pears to get him to go.

Dilute prune juice for sure, or pureed pears. And yes, bananas do that to a lot of people I know. Somehow this has been a conversation in my life - only involving bananas

I always gave diluted pear juice, worked well.
