Ugh, that sucks. Yeah, I agree. I like how our school handled it - they had 2 "early preschool" classrooms that were identical in their schedules/curriculum. The only difference was they moved all the kids who were PT into EPS2 and all the kids who were still working on it in EPS1. If EPS1 kids PT by the time they were ready to move into the preschool classrooms, then they skipped EPS2 and went straight over. EPS2 kids naturally transitioned into the preschool classrooms. So even though there was a PT requirement for the preschool classroom (which I guess they have to have in order to manage staff ratios), it didn't feel like the kids who didn't PT early got the shaft in terms of what they were learning in their classrooms and got to stay in classes with children their own age.
