I'm in! This seems like it will be the year that we will finally have our house the way we want it! We finished the rest of the upstairs friday (whooooooooooot!) and moved DS into his new room and re-did the nursery on Sat for DD into a big girl room (she moved from a toddler bed-crib to a double bed) and now the dump room is being redone into our family room. But at least that room is finished in terms of paint/carper/drywall-it just needs to be cleared out! I'm trying to think what I hauled out of the family room today

    So:
1 huge bag of trash (I'm counting it as 20)
    donated:
    1 crib/matress/2 matress protectors/3 crib sheets
    2 nasty scratchy blankets
    5 sheets
    4 curtains
    2 curtain rods
    1 hideous lamp
    1 stuffed animal
    2 books
    20 pieces of kids clothes
1 bag of ribbons for DS' school (5)
1 bag of sewing stuff that belongs to MIL (that I've had for 3 years, lol)
12 cloth napkins that don't absorb ANYTHING
18 canning jars that I emptied of their expired stuff and washed. Still have them but they are no longer clutter...

I love that the crib is GONE!

    100!

What destinations (donation, selling, trash) count?

7 items sold on ebay so far this year.
I counted a pair of socks as one item - but do whatever makes you happy whether it's one or two. If you think it needs to go it counts - doesn't matter if you bought it on clearance at Target yesterday because it was a steal and decide today that you don't want it. If you return it - it counts because it wasn't making you happy and it' no longer taking up room in your house.

Dropping off some items at our local thrift store today:
    7 video games
    1 shoulder bag
    1 phone
    1 fan
    1 candle holder and candle
    1 pairs sandals
    1 pair slippers
    23 books
    3 toys
    4 sets of foam blocks
    6 cloth napkins
    6 cloth placemats
    1 bed food tray

    Into the trash/recycling:
    1 bra
3 robeez shoe cases (WTF was I saving these for?)
    3 empty shoe boxes
1 candle that I've had since college
1 microwave dinner that had a best by date in 2010

    today's total: 70

    NEW TOTAL: 77

    $ recouped: $120.50

ETA: I ended up dropping off about half of the books at Half Price Books and got $7.50 for them which was $7.50 I wouldn't have if I took them to the thrift store. I did pick up a copy of Baby411 for $1 but I figure 23 books out, 1 book that I wanted in isn't terrible.

Starting today, we just have 3...but they're biggies.

I want to play! The clutter in my tiny home is making me crazy! I have a bunch of stuff to go. Hopefully I can go through each room this year.

I am not sure I can make 2013 but any progress is progress so I am ready to tally again. We have about 60 items at the door to give away. We found out through facebook about a set of sibling girls age 4 and 5 who were taken from their home due to abuse. Apparently they went to a relative with only a couple of items of clothing. So we are giving them tons of matching clothes and some toys (doubles, of course). The same thing happened last year, we found out about twins that had been abandoned with next to nothing. It's so fun to share things with someone who really needs them (and especially knowing our double items are going to be enjoyed by siblings).

So, I'm going to say 60 items.
