Default Need a funny, engaging book to read-aloud to 2nd grade class...

    Please help me!!

I need a funny and engaging book to read-aloud to my son's
    2nd grade class.

Also, one that has great illustrations, if possible.

I was thinking about "The Magic Hat" by Mem Fox. But I would like
to hear other ideas as well.

    Thanks so much!!

Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann

I read this aloud to a 2nd grade class when I was single and our office signed up to read to classes at a local school. It ended with a really good discussion about safety tips, too. Fun illustrations.

Seven Silly Eaters was a big hit when I read it to DS's 1st grade class this year.

We love that book, what a hoot!

Also, The Golem's Latkes, adapted by Eric A. Kimmel. One of a few Hanukkah books I borrowed from a friend, but it's really about this golem. The illustrations are great and it's a pretty funny story!
