I always loved 'cloudy with a chance of meatballs' in elementary school - no idea what grade but it was k-4 for sure.

This book was suggested here and was a hit with DD1's class a few years ago. Great reviews.
The Scrambled States of America is always a hit. Or Skippyjon Jones. Love reading with accents

Homeschooling mom to 2 middle schoolers, once-owner of the now-defunct My Little Ducks
Duck for President. Very funny - unless that skews too young for your demo?
Love "Giraffe and a Half" by Shel Silverstein!!
"Every mother needs a wife." - Amy Poehler, Yes Please
Bark George.... Especially if the teacher is Ok with two. (It's a little short, but it's great and always a big hit.)
Sent from my phone. Please excuse typing errors I've made, and auto correct 'fixes' I missed.
Do you live somewhere that it snows?

All of Robert Munsch's books are great.

Any of the Pigeon books by Mo Willems. Knuffle Bunny or Leonardo the Terrible Monster also by Willems. David Shannon books are a hoot - quick reads but they are funny. They show David's naked butt in 2 of the "David" books just so you know before you choose. A Bad Case of Stripes is great too by Shannon snd How I Became a Pirate (Shannon illustrates this one.) Those two authors hide a character in each of their books that you have to find - thats always fun for a read aloud. In non-Pigeon books Willems hides the Pigeon. And Shannon hides Fergus - a white dog from his childhood. Kids love being on the lookout for the hidden character.
Depending on the group - my second graders last year loved Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg. Its not a funny book but in my experience has always been very captivating. All Van Allsburg books also have a hidden image - they have Fritz hidden somewhere (a terrier that looks like the Target dog). Fritz is much harder to find than Fergus or Pigeon. And attention spans need to be a little longer for this book.
