Yeah, me either. But I felt like there was nothing I could do to change the K setting. So the only thing I could do to increase ds' odds of managing it in light of his issues was to give him an extra year of preschool to develop the skills needed to make it in K now. We looked seriously at private school, but there are not many that work for special needs kids at all and they cost $$$. DS didn't really fit into any of them very well anyway. We ultimately decided an extra year of preschool was the best solution in the situation we faced. And it just really bothers me to think that other parents in the same position have even that less than ideal option taken away from them.
