About the cat issue, is it possible to keep the door closed so the cat stays out?

I have no clue about cats - could they still puncture through a mattress pad/sheets/comforter?

We have two cats and I can't imagine them piercing the Aerobed with their claws. I wonder about the quality of Intex vs. Aerobed. Can you go to a Bed Bath and Beyond and check out Aerobeds?

An Intex bed is NOTHING like an Aero bed. Really.

We got an Aero bed at Costco 10 years ago and it's worth every penny. It was not cheap. This is similar to what we have:

ETA: Looks like Costco has this one now: http://www.costco.com/AeroBed%C2%AE-....11621583.html

If yours has survived cats, that's a good sign! I guess the Aerobeds must be much thicker/stronger than other inflatable mattresses? Our cats are also responsible for the demise of 2 PeaPod tent mattresses

Wow, that one at Costco now is cheap!! I have never seen them ~$100. I thought they were all $200+.

You might call your local costco, they often have the same/similar bed in stock, and you won't pay a premium for shipping (probably built into the online pricing)... Not sure if they'd have the same rebate though.

I've slept on one of these many times. Very comfortable!
