Don't forget Zingo! That and Candyland are DS2's favorite games (I MUCH prefer Zingo). Even older kids don't mind playing it, so it would be a good game to get if the child has older siblings. DS2 got Snack Attack for Christmas too and we really enjoy it. It is not good for those with older siblings since they get way too competitive (or at least DS1 does!)
Oh, and I've given My First Sticky Mosaics kits to several 3 year olds this year. DS2 LOVES doing them and they keep him occupied for a while!
