Default Fun Easter basket fillers (non-food)

    Hi there!

Hoping you all have some great ideas for non-food Easter basket fillers, and even fillers for the eggs. Or maybe just not sugary candy, but it could be food for the eggs? My DH is diabetic, and I'm overweight, and DS is allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, and peanuts, so that's the reason for not buying a ton of candy.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I am doing books, a DVD, games (DS has been asking for dominoes). Also got silly string at the $ store that I think they will love. Target has buckets, watering cans, spray bottles for $1.

For the eggs the biggest hit here are coins.

I think (meaning I havent bought yet!) this year we will do an egg hunt with Legos - both the girls are into them (ages 5 and 9) and ill probably do a set of basic blocks - maybe pinks- and hide the pieces in eggs.
I am also trying to buy a Sophia the first set from the Disney store (they keep selling out) and will take out of the package for basket and maybe in eggs in basket.
    Other stuff:
    Books
    Fun pencils, markers, erasers
Toothbrushes (we always need since they don't like the sonicares)
    Ponytail holders
Maybe Barbie clothes or matchbox cars
? Butterfly larvae for butterfly kit - but probably too late to actually get it here
    Gift cards to movies/popcorn
Maybe a bathing suit- could roll it up and they both need!

I mentioned water beads in another thread they're cheap and a fun sensory toy.

Some ideas in this thread: http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/sho...ghlight=Easter

For eggs, I buy the giant eggs because it's easier to fit non-candy items. I have managed to get matchbox cars, egg shaped sidewalk chalk, and tiny bubble bottles in there. I have also found tiny ducks and tops that fit.

I always get the kids fun outside toys and things they will need for the summer. I tend to go overboard because neither of them have birthdays close to summer so I use Easter as a time to buy stuff like that.
    DS (2 1/2) & DD (9)
    New flip flops/crocs
    Sunglasses
    Swimsuit
    Sidewalk chalk
    sand toys
    Kites

    Swim goggles - http://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Sphere-Se...ds=aqua+sphere

Bubble bucket got this around Christmas for super cheap, it's huge! We always have neighbor kids playing at our house so this will be perfect - http://www.amazon.com/Little-Kids-Bu...+spill+bubbles

Ogodisk - found these when I was looking for an outside game, hope they like it. http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Ogodisk-S...words=ogosport

I was trying to find some UmiZoomi characters for my DS's basket because he loves the show, I don't want to pay more on Amazon and my TRU never has them in stock.

We are going to add on helium balloons this year. Endless fun for my DC. Cheap and I don't have to store them when they're done!

My girls are 4 and 8 and I just ran to Walmart last night and bought similiar stuff. They also had a princess flashlight projectors. I wish I thought of the bathing suits.

    Besides candy, I bought:
    Water guns
Bubble water guns w extra bubble solution
    Chalk
    Cheap make up
Mega bloks Barbie stuff...but, it is now on sale at TRU
    Sunglasses
    Scented markers
Hello kitty and monster high flashlights
    Barbie kite
    Silly putty

They had small mega bloks Barbie kits in foil. That we're $4 and would fit into larger eggs. There were 3 different designs.
