No BTDT, but if the bars are wide, I don't see why not. If they're narrow and round, I think she'll get frustrated as the magnets slip around.

UGH, STUPID LEAPFROG! They discontinued these and now they are selling for like $75 on Amazon (see your link) and they always go over $30+ for used ones on ebay too. Two of our friends have them and DS1 LOVES them as well, I have been trying to buy a set forever. *sigh* I've watched CL but haven't even seen them show up there. So frustrating!

Leapfrog is the best--they get my vote hands down! The letters are indestructible and my kids have loved them for years. They have discontinued the older style (who knows why--I bet it will be back soon) but this one looks very similar. http://shop.leapfrog.com/leapfrog/ju...egoryNav=false

AngB would this work? Keep an eye out at garage sales and consignment sales I see them pretty frequently and not at current ebay prices!

I've seen the new version on shelves at Target and Kohl's, if that helps. We have the older version on our fridge and LOVE it. (Another huge Leapfrog fan here! ) I will say that the downside is that you only get one of each letter, so it's difficult to spell many words. I originally bought the M&D letters, but returned them when I was concerned about them getting ruined when wet. Instead, I bought these foam letters: http://www.amazon.com/Smethport-120-...dp/B001ECI9EM/. I've yet to give them to DD, but her birthday is coming up soon, so we'll see if she likes them!

We have this Leapfrog set and DS1 loves it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002SC7CE

It says the letters and the sound they make. Also as they get older it asks them to find letters and spell words.

I like the Toys R Us set. Cheap ($5.50) so I don't care if they get lost!
I don't remember if the magnets are visible or not but we haven't lost any and we've had them since DS was 2y4m.
