I am travelling to see my family and need to figure out what to do with DS1. I will be bringing a Maestro for DS2 to use down there. I do have a low back booster but I don't think DS1 is ready for it is he? Should I just have a cheap highback booster mailed to my mom?

Yup, I'd ask your mom to pick up a highback Graco Turbobooster and use that. Not sure when your trip is, but they'll periodically go on sale at Target or Walmart for about $40.

How long is your DS going to be in the car? For a quick trip I think that the low back would be fine. If he is going to spend a lot of time in the car then I would have your mom buy a booster there.

Isn't your son in kindergarten? I think that for car rides a low back would be ok. In highly recommend the bubble bum! We use ours in dh's car and they work really well and it's convenient that it can deflate to a small size.

I would probably have an inexpensive high back booster mailed to my mom in your situation. If you think he's not ready for a backless booster, I don't think that far from home is the time to test his comfort ability with it, or yours. DD, who is also in kindergarten, is still harnessed in her frontier 85 every day. I would not be comfortable with her going directly from that to a backless booster if there's no need to.

We like the Harnony Cruz, but the Harnony Youth booster I believe is a tad narrower. The Graco turbo is okay, but DD1 prefers the Cruz as it is more cushy. She has never tried the Amp, but some of her friends use it and the parents seem to be happy with it.

I ordered an evenflo amp. DS liked the cover better (as did I) and it gets good reviews. What is up with the graco designs? They need a new design person!
