Default Fly fishing vacation with kids

Dh is an avid fly fisher. (As in he used to guide professionally, has fly fished on five continents and has flown to Mongolia to fly fish.) We have a nearly ten year old and a three year old.

I have encouraged dh to just to on a fishing trip by himself, but he has very little time with the kids so he is reluctant to do that. I refuse to go to some cabin in the middle of nowhere and be stuck with the kids by myself. He has tried to take his equipment along on family vacations but he never ends up really fishing. He wants to go alllllll day long and not have to think about nap or feeding the kids, etc. If he's going to be gone for hours at a time, I want a kids club or something, especially for our youngest. (Otherwise I'd rather stay at home and we are back to square one with me saying just go without us and dh not going but saying he wants to go fishing.)

Any suggestions for a resort or location that would accommodate all of us? I will google of course, but BBB endorsement means a lot.

Try a dude ranch out west. He can go off fishing all day and join you for dinner. The kids can go off with the kid wrangler or something like that. And you could ride or do something else. Try looking at Jackson Wyoming--they have all sorts of great options there. Or Bozeman Montana.

Ooh, sounds fantastic. Have your DH pick a couple of locations and then you could research to check about the kid-friendliness. I would also go with another family so that the non-fishing spouses can hang out!
