Default Any fabulous tips for Yosemite while pregnant with young kids?

We're not fortunate enough to secure reservations for Yosemite this year. Instead we'll be spending our summer in Mammoth. I'm actually pretty excited it. It sounds fun and some of you have given some great recommendations. But I'm yearning for Yosemite! I really, really want to walk through the Mariposa Grove (the big trees!) I don't know why but that place just speaks to me. I would love to drive to the Yosemite Valley on our last day at Mammoth. I'm trying to convince DH to try to spend one night there (if there are any reservations ANYWHERE--even off the park--to be had). But he's reluctant to spend any more money!

Having a fabulous plan would really help me to sell him on the idea of tacking on a day (or two) to our Mammoth trip through Yosemite!

    TIA,

    Jen

I was 6m pregnant with ds2 when we did Yosemite. The worst part was no dn suite bathroom with our cabin- bathroom runs in the middle of the night= saw a bear!

we did a tram tour, a night time star tour, went to the nature center, hiked near some falls...we had a great trip! 6 years ago so sorry not more specific.

Have you looked into Sequoia/Kings Canyon? It is just as majestic as Yosemite but less known, which=fewer people/crowds.

Sariana, I did look into Sequoia! The problem is that according to google maps, Sequoia is 7 hours away from Mammoth and Yosemite is only 2! I think it has to do with the mountain range.

People cancel all the time. keep checking first thing in the morning and you may very well get lucky.

You could spend time in Mariposa grove or Tulomne meadows. A walk to mirror lake would be relaxing. That trail was closed last month but I'm guessing it should be open now.
