Recommend a wide belt!

I got this dress in black ponte from the last garnet hill sale:




It's lovely and it's cotton-rich which I like but the waist seam is a little too empire on me. If I could cover it up with a wide belt (the wide belt would also expand the waist to include the point at which it needs to hit on me), then it would probably look really nice. A couple of the reviewers also recommended a wide belt with this dress.

I'm thinking pretty wide...at least a couple of inches if not more?

Any recs for what would look good? I'd wear this for work. Maybe with nude flats.

I don't have a specific recommendation but I saw a lot of wide belt at Kohls yesterday and they were cute.
