wildfires in California

We are leaving for San Diego tomorrow. Plan is to spend a few days visting Sea World, Zoo and Legoland.
We are getting calls from our in laws who don't live in CA that wildfires are really bad in CA this year.
I look at the news but it is hard for me to determine if San Deigo and Carlsbad are affected by wildfires.
Can someone who is from San Diego let us know if it is safe to travel there.

I don't know of any current wildfires this far south. That could change in an instant, if course, but that is true anywhere when it comes to disasters.

I don't even think the fire season is especially bad. I mean it's always bad if you're affected, but it's not like when there was that huge fire in SD and tons of houses burned.

There's a big fire at Yosemite making the news which is several hundred miles from San Diego. Maybe that's what they are hearing? I haven't heard anything about a fire in San Diego.

Yeah I think the Yosemite fire is fairly serious but no where near you.
