I found the Ergo very uncomfortable. I got a Beco Butterfly in 2008 instead. I loved it. I am sending you a PM.

If you want an ergo, also look at the patapum. I had one and I think it's actually more comfy than the ergo, but they are basically the same thing and ergo has just done a better job marketing to the US market, so that is why it is so popular. My sil has an ergo and she tried my patapum and agreed with me that my patapum was more comfortable than her ergo, but ergo is a recognizable brand now in the US, so ppl will snatch them up. You may be able to find a patapum used more easily, since it's an aussie brand and only the most die hard of babywearers know of this brand.

I loved the Ergo, but both my kids hated it and refused to be in it. Haven't heard of the issue with the baby bjourn but wonder how common it actually is, both our kids loved it, and dh was willing to wear it.

Word-for-word. I thought the Ergo was awesome, but both our girls acted like it was a torture device. They both adored the Bjorn, and would have happily ridden in it for hours at a time.
