I got 270 pc total and I'm glad..100pc would not have been enough for both. As expected DS really loved the Playmags that had "trains".
I'm glad your kids love them. I know you were on the fence about them.

The FCC requires a license to use the GMRS frequencies. The FMS can be used by anyone. I believe all of the longer range, like over a mile or so, are GMRS. http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/gene...o-service-gmrs is the info and lists the frequencies.

Wow, I had no idea! Guess I will look into applying for it. I really just plan on using these around the neighborhood. I wonder how anyone would know if they are used long range?

So far, it seems most things are hits.

    DS1 is 9.5:
kindle - my old touch and he was quite surprised and thrilled.
reading pillow for his bed was a much bigger hit than I thought.
Minecraft magnets have been played with for a good hour
Terraria for the PC was his most requested item and he's very happy
My aunt gave him money in a Money Maze bank and he's played with that for an hour or more all together.
Other things that were hits: Plants vs.Zombies Risk, books. Think Fun games, fiber optic light, whoopee cushion.

These haven't come out yet, so we'll see:
    Battleship
    Stick Storm
    bulletin boards for his room

    DD is 7.5:
    Monster High High School
    Equestria girls doll
    Monster high dolls

The rest hasn't done much as she's sick. I'll update

    DS2 is 5.5:
All Power Rangers were a huge hit
    Hexbug vertical
    more wall tracks

    Misses:
    books
doll bed, although I think once he and DD are playing dolls, he'll appreciate it more

DH got a rowing machine and all the kids like it too
And we got an air hockey table that they all seem to love.

    I got a kindle paperwhite - yay!

I think everything was either a hit or a "we just haven't really gotten to it yet" item.

    DS1 immediate hits
Camo cargo pants-- he actually seemed the most gleeful opening these. I don't usually buy camo for kids, so he knew this was a treat, and he had been asking for a pair of camo pants for a while.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid book 3, which DS2 "got" him. Again, very excited opening it up.
Star Wars I, II, and III movies- He spent most of the afternoon watching the DVDs.
When asked what his favorite Christmas present was though, he says it's the Hobbit Lego set from MIL (I bought on her behalf).
Apples to Apples game-- very excited to get this.

He seemed less excited about the Skylander swapforce starter kit from Santa than I expected, but I think he'll be psyched once we actually set it up. I'm pretty sure he'll be happy with the other presents he got too once he gets around to them all. I feel like we did well this year by him. The only thing he didn't seem excited about was the snow bib we got him. He even seemed happy to unwrap gloves.

DS2 was also really excited to open presents this year and seems genuinely excited about his stash. Big hits include:
Peek-a-boo Elmo doll from my parents
    Ikea tent from my parents
Beep Beep Toot Toot book from us
    Elmo DVD from DS1
A talking dog from my sister.

I can't think of any misses for him.
    DS1 6/07

    DS2 2/12
