I just got an email confirming that when my prime renews is June the rate is increasing from $79 to $99.
ETA: My rate increases in June 2014. So check your renewal dates!

wow, the price increase might just be a deal killer for me unless I can find someone to share the membership.
Mine went from $79 to $86.50 already this year because they started collecting tax in my state I shop on amazon a LOT so I feel like the discounted prices I get probably even out the membership fee. If I had to order more in order to get free shipping or wait around until I have several things to order together then I'll probably end up spending that much more anyway. It's just harder to part with it all at once.

Was just coming to post! I still think it will be worth the convenience for me. But maybe I should find someone to split it with. Hmmm...
Cnet is reporting April 17th as the cut-off date between $79 & $99:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-576...to-$99-a-year/
This is what my morning email says:
We are writing to provide you advance notice that the price of your Prime membership will be increasing in 2015. Your 2014 annual renewal will remain at the original price of $79. On April 12, 2015, your membership will renew at $99/year.
I've had complaints about Prime lately. Things have NOT been coming in the promised 2 day time frame, even when the estimated delivery date has said that it would. I'm going to see this year whether things come on time, and then I'll decide about renewing Prime.
How does it work when you split a membership? Could I share with my Aunt, for example, when I am in the northeast and she is in Florida? Could we watch Amazon Streaming at the same time? Has anyone done this?
Wow! I missed the cut off by 10 days--my renewal is April 27. I need to figure out if it is worth it for me.
