Game system? Wii U? Xbox? Help!

Why does Wii U struggling make a difference? No new games coming potentially? It concerns me, but I'm not really sure why.

I don't want to buy something that's going out of business any minute. Reports earlier this year sure made it sound like they were going under and about the pull the plug on the Wii U, but I haven't heard much about it lately.

That said, my kids (8 and almost 5) LOVE our 7+ year old Wii. They play a lot of the sports resort type games, but also Wii Fit games (skiing, sword play), Mario Kart, and Lego Harry Potter. They're mostly into Minecraft on the PC, so they don't use the Wii very often. Probably once a week. It used to be much more before Minecraft entered our lives, LOL.
