Default San Antonio or Austin for a day

We're thinking of spending a day (Saturday noon - Sunday noon) in Austin or San Antonio next month. We'd be adding a day to a currently scheduled trip, so we don't HAVE to do it, but it might be fun.

If you were going to be in Austin or San Antonio with a 10yo for 24 hours, what would you do?
And which would you pick, Austin or San Antonio?

San Antonio has the Alamo, Riverwalk, Fiesta Texas, and Sea World.

Schlitterbaun in New Braunfels is also fun

Austin has Barton Creek pool, a natural spring fed pool (water is cold and bottom is slimy, but it's fun). The bats on the S. Congress bridge is fun. The Thinkery is a nice hands-on children's museum and learning center, and there are other museums as well in the area. Also, IKEA. There is a Facebook page call Free Fun in Austin that might give you some more ideas of what's going on in Austin.

Barton Springs is nice but I like Hamilton Pool, a short drive from Austin, better. It is a natural swimming hole formed from a collapsed cave with waterfall and trail area. Hamilton pool plus BBQ is still my idea of a perfect summer day.
