    Default Twin bedding

Moving DD into a big kid bed (standard twin) very soon. Her crib converted to a toddler bed, but she is getting way too tall now. I don't want to break the bank with bedding (especially sheets) but I want them to be comfortable and soft. Target has some cute twin bed comforters, but the sheets in some of the cute colors I keep finding are 225 thread count and from the exterior feel a little rough. Anyone use them? I wonder if they soften a bit after washing? For me, I usually try to buy bedding that is a higher thread count, so I am not sure if it is worth the investment at this age (4 yrs old) to buy higher thread count? Her crib sheets seem so much softer.

Any favorite sheets or bedding places (either online or B&M) for twin bed sizes? TIA

We really like PBK's bedding, and you can find stuff for pretty steep discounts online. It's 200 tc, but quality is almost more important than tc. I've bought 400 tc sheets before that completely fall apart and get rough after washing. We abuse our PBK sheets - I use H2O2 on them for bloody noses, wash in Oxyclean, hot water, etc - and they hold up great! They are crisp and smooth. Save with duvet covers, you can often get them on pretty steep clearance and I pair them with cheap $15 IKEA comforters.

Thanks twowhat? I never considered PBK due to their price, but I like your thinking and appreciate your shopping strategy.

I got DS's twin sheet set at IKEA and I'm really happy with it. The fitted sheets have deep pockets and good elastic, and they're very soft. I think it was about $25 for the set.

IKEA sheets are incredibly soft, almost knit/jersey-like (in contrast to the crisp/smooth of the PBK sheets). We have IKEA sheet sets as backups, and to layer underneath the PBK sheets so I can strip off the top layer in case someone has a bloody nose in the middle of the night (So I layer PBK, then a layer of fleece, then IKEA from top to bottom. The fleece keeps bloody noses from seeping through to the IKEA sheet, and it's so easy to wash.). My only beef is they don't have anything cute/girly that my kids like, LOL, but the IKEA sheets hold up great too.
