Default Why would I have expected anything different....

So, tonight being the first night of Hannukah I asked my husband to please try to get home early so we could have family dinner, light the candles and open gifts. Of course he just texts me that something major has come up at work and there's no way he can be home early. I know it's the real deal and he really does have to stay/would rather be at home with us. Just sucks that I'll probably be doing this by myself most nights except this weekend. I guess I just have to suck it up and make the best of a bad situation...

BTDT for many years. So sorry you are disappointed. I'm sure you will make it special for the kids.

I'm so sorry! I hope you had a lovely night anyway. I've got an ever absent DH, too, and I know how wearing it can be, even when you know he has to be away and would rather be with you and the kids.

We lit the candles alone tonight, too, and the kids danced to this: http://youtu.be/NoHp2Rq8sMI

    I hope it cheers you!
