    Sorry she didn't listen to you & gifted it anyway. FWIW, those mini scooters are great for making little kids feel "big" and lots of fun but they don't actually zoom all that fast, IME. I wouldn't be too worried about her spinning out of control all down the block. Falls, scrapes and booboos, yes, but I don't actually think it's crazy for an almost 3 yo.
    (My DS is the same age and he's been riding those mini scooters since last spring. But when he really wants to be like his big sisters he steals their super fast razor scooters and they adjust the handlebar for him. The scooter pretty much goes as fast as the person riding it can push. I've never been overly concerned. And I consider myself a semi-helicopter parent when it comes to safety. I need a bag over head smilie. ) sorry for the hijack, was trying to reassure you that she'll really be fine once you let her ride it.

    How lame. I'd also put it away until you deem your DC's ready (and has a helmet).
