Default HELP - Young America crib to toddler bed conversion

5+ years after buying our Young America All Seasons built-to-grow crib, we are wanting to convert it to a toddler bed for DD#2. We didn't buy the conversion kit, and now it appears to be very difficult to find. I have called multiple furniture stores, looked on CL and ebay, and have searched on google. The only white one I can find is directly from Stanley for $400, which is way more than I want to spend. Does anyone else have this crib? Is there another brand or a universal conversion kit that may work? We have considered buying either a toddler bed or a twin bed, but really want this crib-to-toddler bed conversion to work.

This is what the conversion kit looks like:

and this is what the crib looks like:

It doesn't look like you need the stanley kit to make the toddler bed in terms of stability since the photos of the conversion also show it with no rail at all. So I would just take off the front piece and use a universal toddler rail like this: http://www.amazon.com/KidCo-Converti.../dp/B002ZDFVP4
The conversion kit is expensive because it includes the pieces to make it a toddler bed and then to go into a full size bed, so it has the rails and mattress support parts that are more expensive. If you just want to do a toddler bed, I'd go the universal route.
