ETA: the book also says if your total is less than 1200 to round up to 1200. If it's more than 2300 to round down to 2300.

Oh! You're right! So sorry! Somehow I missed that part!
So, yes, if you're less than 1200, round up. I was in the 1200 calorie range and like I said, had plenty to eat!
