Default Whatever happened to table manners?

At my workplace, we have an employee cafeteria. So, at the table on one side of me, was a person who was constantly blowing their nose. I mean, 20+ times in a thirty-minute period. Now, a sneeze I could understand, but who blows their nose at the table full of people? And, on the other side of me, was a group of the groundskeepers, one of whom took off his boots and put his very smelly feet up on the chair behind me.

Who does these things? Am I being oversensitive?

It seems all bets are off in a cafeteria. I eat at my desk.

Oh my gosh, that is so gross!!! Blowing your nose at the table always grosses me out!! I always thought you were supposed to go to
the bathroom to blow your nose. I really don't want to hear that when I'm trying to eat.

And the guy taking off his shoes…I don't even know what to say!! I probably would have said something to him. That is disgusting!!

I would feel compelled to say something. There is a time and a place for everything.

I have a co-worker who coughs - without covering his mouth - at the lunch table on a regular basis. I generally try to sit as far away from him as possible.

DH has a coworker who will loudly burp and fart in his office without any excuse me. Regularly, and loud enough that DH hears it all of the time from across the hallway And he sucks or snorts his snot regularly too. A real gem. People are so. gross. This guy has a PhD, is not unaware of social norms due to a diagnosis or anything like that. He's just gross. I keep telling Dh to get a whoopie cushion and every time this guy farts, he should fire one back in his direction via a whoopie cushion. They have a pretty relaxed workplace, but no one wants to hear you rip a giant fart, especially if you make no attempt to excuse yourself, and you do it on a regular basis!

Shoes off and blowing nose at the table are both nasty.

People never cease to amaze. I had a coworker who clipped. His. Nails. During a meeting. Where is that socially acceptable?

OP I would have to eat at my desk if I worked in your office.
