Default Slip on winter shoes for boys

DS is 4. He has some Plae high tops that I got him but he still has trouble getting them velcroed tightly enough to run around in. They change shoes to go out in the playground at his preschool, so he needs to be able to do them independently. He has a very wide foot that's been difficult to fit in the past.

He loves his crocs, but it's getting cold here to wear those outside. Anything that is as easy to put on as crocs but more appropriate for fall/winter?

Don't know if this style runs wide, but check out the Keen Kootenay boots. We've had several pairs and they are pretty easy to get on. They do run small, though, so I'd size up.

LLBean Comfort Mocs might work if they come in his size.

Or the LE or Merrell equivalent.

We use the Merrell mocs and I have one kiddo who used fleece lined Crocs or wool socks in his regular crocs until it snowed enough to need snowboots.

Yup, merrell, llb, le mocs all were the first to come to mind. Sketchers might make something like that too, I know that they do for women's styles, not sure about kids.

LLB Shock Mocs. These are great winter shoes for those in northern climates. They could serve as a sneaker, but also are very water resistant. I have been buying these for a few years. Before that, I would buy the older versions of the current Keen Pagosa. The LLB Shock Moc is more wide foot friendly than the Keen styles.

We find tsukihoshi shoes to be easy for DS to handle. He wears those unless he needs snow boots but he has some warm fuzzy emu boots he likes too.
